Frequently asked questions.
How do I book an appointment?
First of all—we can’t wait to have you at the salon!
You can email us at salon@blend.hair or call/text (503) 208-6778 to book.
Do I have to buy my own hair extensions, or can I bring my own?
For new installs, the answer is no—we provide everything. Blend carries the highest quality 100% human hair extensions in stock at all times, in lengths ranging from 14” to 24”.
Our colors were developed by the stylists at Blend, and we’ve designed our installation method around our own hair to guarantee the best results. If you love our work, please understand that we need to use our tools and products to ensure a seamless install.
What if I already have extensions installed, but I’ve moved to Oregon and need a move-up?
This happens often, and we get it! All of our stylists are happy to offer move-ups for new clients, as long as the hair is already installed when you arrive. (Some stylists may make exceptions, so please reach out to the stylist you’d like to see directly.)
Keep in mind:
Every stylist installs hair differently, so please ask questions beforehand to ensure the result is exactly what you want.
At Blend, our general maintenance schedule is:
Bump-ups around 6 weeks
Move-ups every 8–12 weeks (depending on install method and at-home care)
Note: Level 1 stylists do not currently offer bump-ups.
How much do hair extensions cost?
Every stylist creates a custom plan and estimate based on your goals, hair type, and desired maintenance schedule. Because of this, we don’t have a set price.
At Blend, extensions range from $500 to $4000. This investment includes:
Luxury human hair
Installation
Custom cut & style
Color (if you are also receiving a color service)
A Luxury At-Home Care Kit to protect your extensions and make them last
Why such a big price range?
Several factors affect cost:
Length – longer hair = higher cost
Amount of hair – more grams/rows = higher cost
Number of rows needed – more time and product = higher cost
Coloring – if your natural hair or extensions need custom color, that is an additional charge
Your stylist will give you the most accurate estimate during consultation.
Do I need new hair every time? How long do extensions last?
No—you do not need to buy new hair for every appointment.
On average, Blend extensions last 8 months to 1 year, sometimes longer with excellent home care. Many clients actually choose to replace their hair sooner simply because they want a new look, not because the hair is worn out.
💡 Pro Tip: If you’re torn between two lengths, always go longer. Extensions naturally shorten and thin slightly over time with trims, so longer hair will give you more wear out of your investment.
⚠️ Disclaimer: Extensions can be ruined quickly if the wrong products or at-home routines are used. Please follow your stylist’s care instructions closely to protect your investment.
What is hair extension maintenance and why is it important?
As your natural hair grows, your extensions grow out with it. This means they need to be maintained regularly.
Move-Ups (8–12 weeks)
Extensions are fully removed.
Natural shed hair is brushed out.
Extensions are reinstalled seamlessly.
Add-on services like a scalp rub, mask, or color can be included—just ask your stylist to add them to your appointment.
Bump-Ups (around 6 weeks)
Offered by some stylists (not all).
Beads are unclamped, slid back up, and re-clamped.
A shorter service for in-between appointments.
Must arrive with clean hair.
You should not get more than two bump-ups in a row before doing a full move-up.
✨ At Blend, we’ve built our extension program to give you the most natural, seamless, and healthy results possible. Our stylists are here to guide you every step of the way—from consultation to install to long-term care. ✨
