Basic do’s and don’ts for hair extensions?

Wash with Sulfate FREE shampoo and conditioner.

Blow dry the top of extensions so it does not hold moisture. Air dried hair is fine.

Oil the mid to ends of the hair at least once a day as the hair extensions age

Sleep in a low braid

Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase.

Brush from the ends of your hair moving upward.

Brush a few times a day to prevent tangling. Section hair and brush in-between extensions.

When swimming, coat your hair in conditioner and wear in a braid or tight high bun.

We have noticed hard water can strip natural and extension hair of color and nutrients. If possible use soft water.

Be aware, salt water and chlorine can strip hair of color.

Avoid sunscreen touching your extensions.

Avoid Brazilian Blowouts on extensions.

Avoid Bleaching extensions.

Avoid Perms on extensions.

We only guarantee hair quality. Installation is based off of the stylist who installed the hair.

Can I dye or tone my hair extensions?

We do not suggest dying our extensions, as it can change or alter the integrity of the extensions. If you do choose to dye Blend Hair Extensions, our suggestion would be to use a demi or semi permanent color. If you chose to tone please watch carefully. All coloring done to blend Hair extensions should be done by a licensed professional. Blend Hair Salons does offer custom coloring.

Blend is not liable and does not replace any hair that is colored or toned (including purple shampoo).

How do I wash my hair extensions?

Brush hair to remove any tangles and to prevent matting before showering.

ONLY use sulfate free shampoo + conditioner to prolong your hair color and extensions.

Gently shampoo all of your natural hair. Make sure to wash in between your rows as well.
Do not scrub vigorously. We suggest a double shampoo to fully clean the hair. Rinse well. Do not leave any product behind.

Apply conditioner . For even distribution and to seal down the cuticle, use a Brush while in the shower to ensure every stand gets covered in conditioner. Rinse well. Do not leave any product behind.

Use a moisture mask at least twice a month to extend the life of your hair extensions.

Best way to Brush and Blow Dry Hair Extensions?

Using a Wet Brush, start from the ends of your hair and work your way up.

Once you reach the top of the weft, stop brushing.

We suggest clipping everything up except your natural hair underneath your bottom row, and start your brushing with that.
Next, drop down your bottom row and brush that out.
Next, drop out your natural hair in between the two rows, and brush that out.
Next, drop out your top row and brush that out.
Finally, drop out your natural that is on top to complete the brushing process.

Apply a heat protectant like unite 7 second detangler

Rough dry your hair 80% of the way (No tugging at the extensions with a round brush or comb. Use only your hands and fingers.)

For a faster blow dry, section out each row and rough dry them separately.

You can use a round brush and a small amount of tension to smooth your hair and the extensions, the last 20% of your blow dry.

Is Hand Tied a Method or is Blend a Method?

Hand Tied describes the hair and how it is made. Blend method requires no tape, glue or heat for application. Hand tied wefts have been pre-cut and sewn by hand to create the smallest weft-size possible. Blend hand tied extensions SHOULD NOT be cut on your own as they will unravel and become unusable.

Best way to sleep with hair extensions?

Brush thoroughly and make sure you're going to bed with dry hair.

Do one or two loose braids and secure with a silk scrunchie. A loose low pony is another option.

Sleep on a silk pillowcase.

What is the weight per weft?

each weft is made by hand so they are not all identical in width or thickness. Wefts are supposed to be 11in wide and the highest grams possible per weft.

14in- 12g per weft

18in- 15g per weft

22in- 20g per weft

24in- 30g per weft

How Many Wefts are needed for my hair type?

Every artist applies hair extensions differently. 95% of the time, 1 row only adds thickness and NO LENGTH. If you want length we always suggest 2 rows or more for a more seamless blend.

volume rows ( no length) - 3 to 5 wefts

fine hair - 6 to 8 wefts

medium hair - 8 to 10 wefts

thicker hair ( or adding lots of length)- 10 to 16 wefts

Do you offer wavy or curly hair extensions?

we would love to offer wavy and curly hair extensions but at this time our manufacturing does not offer this style of hair.
